Meet the Founder
My name is Jasmine and I’m the founder of Tasting India. I come from a family of fierce and talented women and have very fond memories of cooking with all my aunts and learning the magic of spices from my mother. I am passionate about sharing food and flavor with others, which inspired Tasting India’s line of unique and micro batch crafted products.
Food has always been my favorite way to create new bonds and strengthen connections, so I feel grateful to spend my time building a community that is United by Spice!
A letter from the Founder
A Spice Merchant’s Grand Daughter
In my journey of creating this line, I learnt more about my Grandfather, who was one of the biggest spice merchants in his day, in Kolkata India. Growing up, my mother often recounted tales of playing amongst hundreds of sacks of spices, the perfume filling every crevice of her childhood home.
These early stories were instrumental in my quest for understanding the magic of spices and wanting to share that with the world. I remember knowing that I wanted to be a chef, very early on in my life and my family wholeheartedly encouraged my love for cooking, feeding others and building shared experiences through food!
Spices have been the very foundation of all my memories and through Tasting India, I want to offer a tantalizing glimpse of a rich, vibrant culture I come from and also showcase how spices can help elevate flavors across different cuisines.
